dmarley: Jack O'Neill in front of the Stargate with the caption "I feel...groovy" (Jack)

Popslash--One of them's named Justin, and there's another named Nick. Oh, and last month was Howie month.

DragonballZ--It takes many episodes to power up. All the characters are screwed up in the head. And there are Dragonballs.

OC--Some people like this show. Others do not.

M15--Some people like this show very much. I think there may possibly be guns involved.

West Wing--It's about the President. Aaron Sorkin created it.

Farscape--There's this guy who got sucked through a thingy and ended up on a ship with some aliens.

Firefly--Many people were upset by this show's cancellation. There are frequent analogies made by its fans to both pirates and cowboys.

Harry Potter--There's some guy named Snape who's got long, silky, black hair, a dazzling smile, a fantastic body, and who appears to be a prick but is really sweet, kind, and tragically misunderstood.

Hee!

HP=the wankiest fandom short of SV ever (and I love it for just that very reason ;-)
Popslash=a bunch of crazy people who squee a lot. Something about boys being pretty...I don't know, as I said, crazy!
Farscape=uhh...muppets come to mind for some reason
DZB=cartoon my kid used to watch that was mildly annoying, that's pretty much all I need to know.

The rest of the list are random letters and numbers to me. *g*

Just don't look and it'll be okay. (They're such nice boys!)(And kinda...sparkly...)

DragonballZ--It takes many episodes to power up. All the characters are screwed up in the head. And there are Dragonballs.

Okay, this made me laugh. Thanks to my boys, I'm waay too familiar with this show and I've never actually watched a single ep. And what you said pretty much covers it!

OC--Some people like this show. Others do not.
I know exactly as much about this as you, except that I finally found out that OC stands for Orange County. Who knew?

M15--Some people like this show very much. I think there may possibly be guns involved.

*g* This one I have a sneaking suspicion that I might like, but who has time to even figure out when it's on?

West Wing--It's about the President. Aaron Sorkin created it.

Snappy dialogue. Lots of snappy dialogue. And walking very fast.

Farscape--There's this guy who got sucked through a thingy and ended up on a ship with some aliens.

Dude! You would totally loove "Farscape"! [livejournal.com profile] concorde loves "Farscape". John Creighton is, like, the perfect hero (because he's not perfect)(but he tries so hard!)(Kind of like Duncan.)(And, also like Duncan, he looks really good in leather.)

Firefly--Many people were upset by this show's cancellation. There are frequent analogies made by its fans to both pirates and cowboys.

Wanna see the Richard Burgi ep. And I heard Joss is making it into a movie. And the male captain's name is Jayne. I've exhausted my information.

Harry Potter--There's some guy named Snape who's got long, silky, black hair, a dazzling smile, a fantastic body, and who appears to be a prick but is really sweet, kind, and tragically misunderstood.

Alan Rickman-weirdly appealing. Pretty decent books. Read one pretty decent Harry/Draco story.

So far, Stargate is my overwhelming fandom right now. Still love my HL, TS, FS, etc., but hey, Stargate is actually *in production*, thankyouvery much. And has Jack. And has Daniel back. And that's a hard combo to beat.

(Did you get to see POTC? I know going out to the movies can be difficult with a little one.)
(And speaking of going out, where's our con report?!)

Yes, oh, yes....:) I wrote up my gushing opinion of it here:

http://www.livejournal.com/users/dmarley/2346.html

Since then, I've managed to see it two more times, which says something about how much I liked it. The last viewing was day before yesterday, when as soon as Albert got home I said, "You've got Boo, I'm going to the movies." :)

You know, even though Legolas has been my favorite Lord of the Rings character since before Orlando Bloom was born (which is in itself a scary thought), I wasn't particularly attracted to him as Legolas. I loved the job he did with the character, and was thrilled to pieces at the decision to show Legolas as a broad-shouldered, kick-ass fighter and not a frail willowy waif, but the hot babe factor just wasn't there until I saw Bloom all sweaty and scruffy in Pirates of the Caribbean. Add to that the hotness that was Jack Sparrow, and even if the movie had sucked it would still have had pretty things to look at. But it didn't suck, so it was a winner all around. :)

This took some figuring out on my part, helped by a marathon on something or other while I was idly channel surfing the other night. We call this same series 'Spooks' and it's kind of earnest, like a cross between 'The New Professionals' (but without the scary t&a action) and '24'.

Harry Potter--There's some guy named Snape who's got long, silky, black hair, a dazzling smile, a fantastic body, and who appears to be a prick but is really sweet, kind, and tragically misunderstood.

Unlike the Snape in the books and movies who is a scrawny unattractive prick with personal hygiene issues and therefore much more entertaining... ;)
