I Have Written

I have the flu. It's meme time.
This one was gakked from
nimori, who did it for Harry Potter fandom, but since I happened to have recently totted up a few stats for
coreopsis, I thought this would be fun to apply to all my fan writing and see what happened.
*s are for categories I added.
I have written....
Completed fics, *published: 25
*Completed fics, unpublished: 23
Published WIPs: 0
Unpublished WIPs: 393
Drabbles: 0
Total: 441
Of that total...
Het/Slash/Gen: 21/376/44
Most frequent main pairing:
*Published--Mike Logan/Ben Stone (Law & Order)
*Unpublished--Archie Goodwin/Saul Panzer (Nero Wolfe)
*Number of Fandoms: 44
*Number of Crossovers: 41
Oddest pairing: Well, nothing nearly as odd as Voldemort/Pikachu.... I guess I'd have to say the oddest was pairing Nasir from Robin of Sherwood with a (grown-up) Trixie Belden.
Debut fic: "Louder Than Words" (Law & Order, Mike Logan/Ben Stone)
Squick checklist! I have written...
BDSM: Yes
Bestiality: No
Bloodplay: No
Breathplay: No
Chan: Yes
Character death: Yes
Incest: No
Mary Sue: Yes
Moresome (four or more people): Yes
Mpreg: Yes
Necrophilia: No
Non-con/rape: Yes
Scat: No
Threesome: Yes
Water sports: No
Now, to put this in a bit of perspective, those stats represent almost twenty years of fan writing, even my youthful ventures which include 17 Mary Sues. If there is a higher power they will all spontaneously combust upon my death.
I'm a little disturbed by all the unfinished stories. Some of the ideas--okay, a lot of the ideas--are crap, but there are some good stories I have bits of that I've never finished. I had this four or five story arc planned for Due South and Twin Peaks, of which "Cold Heart" is the third story. I'd love to complete that. Then there are at least seven Stargate stories that I think would be good if I could just get off my hiney and spew the words onto the page. But, sadly, that's just not the way it works. It's a really good thing my fan fiction is a hobby, 'cause I don't think I could ever make it as a paid writer. I'd never actually produce anything. :)

I'm actually feeling somewhat better. I think it's a) a brief flu and b) a mild case. Or possibly c) a nasty allergy attack. Boo seems to be fine, but I spent last night with all three babies, and I'm just hoping I wasn't contagious. I think another snootful of Theraflu and a good night's sleep will fix me up.

Date: 2003-08-25 08:53 am (UTC)Definitely one of the "Please, oh, please let this story burst into flames before any other human eyes see it" ones. It's one of the reasons that I'm really, really glad the internet didn't exist (well, that it wasn't popularly accessible) back then. If it had, I might have actually posted that thing and subsequently had to change my identity for the rest of my fannish career in humiliation.
Live and learn. :)

LOL! Unfortunately, it's all hardcopy, and about half is illegibly handwritten. If it were in some kind of electronic format that didn't require any actual work on my part to send, I'd seriously consider letting you read it, because it's so ridiculous. As it is, I'm afraid that it will simply have to rest in obscurity. :)
