I'll make the usual complaints: Not enough Jack, not enough Teal'c, not enough Daniel, not enough Team. I want SG-1 back, dammit! Grrrr....
Apart from that, though, I was surprised at how much I ended up enjoying the episode for itself. I like puzzle-solving scenarios, and this was a pretty decent puzzle, with enough twists to make it interesting. Felger wasn't nearly as irritating as I thought he'd be. If he'd been nothing more than comic relief the whole time, I would likely have clawed my eyes out before Act 2. But he turned into, if not necessarily a more sympathetic or likable character, at least into a more interesting character. I actually found it kind of neat that they pointed up that not everyone is able to work under pressure, that in fact Carter's ability to come up with solutions under fire isn't to be taken for granted. I also approved of the fact that Carter basically told him to quit whining and get to work.
I was fairly indifferent to the Chloe love-interest subplot. If there'd been anything even remotely unique about it, instead of it being a re-hash of every other "assistant in love with the professor" scenario, I might have cared more. Fortunately, they didn't spend a great deal of time on it, and at least Chloe was shown once in a while being a scientist in her own right, and not just Felger's fan club.
Liked the plot. A lot. I thought it was a nifty idea, though I couldn't help but remember Daniel's crack in "Politics" about uploading a computer virus to the mothership a la Independance Day. I also enjoyed the Baal-behind-it-all twist. Every once in a while, it's interesting to see one of the SGC's brilliant ideas bite them on the butt.
Still wondering what Jack and Teal'c's "alternate means of transportation" is, unless Sam was referring to the ship they rescued her and Felger in. Maybe that'll come up next week.
All that said, I can't help wishing, though, that the episode had been something different. For instance, an episode featuring SG-1.
