I have watch myself and not relentlessly plug Text Wrangler at every opportunity. :) I found out the other day that MS Word's latest version has only just added a "Change case" function, something TW has had for at least a decade. But I also know that not everyone a) uses a Mac and b) enjoys typing on a program that doesn't do anything but ASCII. (It was actually kind of a blow when Text Wrangler detached from BBEdit and lost the menu of HTML shortcuts. I'm still considering upgrading, which I probably should because I've used their program for free for fifteen years.)
TW is great for stuff like weird paragraph breaks. The disadvantage is that if you try to open a .doc file, you'll get a bunch of garbage characters at the beginning and end (and possibly in the middle), but if you just cut and paste text and hit the "convert to ASCII" function it's very easy to clean up formatting wierdness. The other problem is that you'll also lose any italics or bold or centering in the original text, which I realize might be a issue.
