Torchwood Recommendations Central Link Post

Now that I have over a thousand Torchwood stories tagged on Delicious, I think it's time to make an official plug post for my Torchwood recs.

I read through a lot of Torchwood stories (both old and new), and as I do I pick out the ones that I think are enjoyable and readable and bookmark them on Delicious. With lots of tags. I think of my recs primarily as a reading filter, aimed at readers who might not have time to click through everything posted to [livejournal.com profile] torchwood_three every day, and also aimed at new fans who might feel overwhelmed at the sheer volume of stories out there.

If that's too broad for your tastes, I also have a five-star (literally, *****) tag that I use for stories which I found outstanding in some way. I also highly recommend [livejournal.com profile] torchwood_house, which is a well-organized and comprehensive recommendation community.

To access my recs, you have several options:

1) You can find the full list of my Torchwood story bookmarks on my Delicious page. Everything I've tagged is available there. If you want to follow my recs in future, as I update, you can either bookmark the page and set the links to appear in chronological order or, if you have a Delicious account, add me to your network. You can also follow updates using the RSS feed. To get only the stories I've tagged as recs (which, frankly is about 90% of them), use the Torchwood rec tag page (RSS feed). If you want to find stories with no "Children of Earth" content, or you're looking specifically for "Children of Earth" stories, please read this post about how I've tagged those stories.

2) You can follow my Twitter. This is something I've set up only recently, but I now tweet all my fic recs directly from Delicious, and also post links to the Delicious tags for any thematic lists I might make in response to requests on [livejournal.com profile] twgenrefinders. New stories are labeled as "NEW," storyfinder lists are labeled as "Storyfinder."

The main difference between following on Twitter and following directly from Delicious is that the Twitter links take you directly to the story, accompanied with what information can be conveyed in 140 characters. The Delicious page displays my (numerous) tags and summary information about the story along with the links. It just depends on what level of information (and which platform) appeal to you.

3) You can friend my Dreamwidth journal or my Livejournal (the same content is crossposted to both journals). I have a daily summary post of all the links I Tweeted from Delicious during the day, tagged under "delicious rec tweets." (Livejournal tag link.) Again, this is a recent thing, and to get to older individual recs you'll still need to go to the Delicious page. I also periodically post thematic lists of stories to my journal under the "torchwood finder lists" tag. (Livejournal tag link.)

The Torchwood rec content on the journals will be the same as the other sources, but I also use my journals as, well, journals. This means that, while you are of course more than welcome to friend me if you prefer to interact via LJ or Dreamwidth, I also understand that you may not be interested in posts about boiled eggs, my (lack of) technical competence and my knitting. I will in no way take offense if you friend and then filter my journal, or if you opt to track the above tags rather than friend me. I want to share my recs, but I don't want anyone who is interested only in the recs to feel any obligation to take interest in the rest of my journal (though if you're into boiled eggs, that's cool, too. :))

Any questions, please drop a comment.
